History

Second Cybertronian Civil War

Early Battles

At some point after the Second Cybertronian Civil War began in 4,000,000 BC, an Autobot named Threnody created a covert operations squad called the Wreckers. One of its members was named Valve, the brother to the then-deceased Springarm and Wheelarch, two members of the Rodion Police Force who were murdered by a crony of the Senate named Whirl. Eventually, the team was joined by Impactor, a cold-constructed former miner with a retractable harpoon for an arm.

Soon, Threnody died and was replaced by a Hydrobot named Crest. By the eleventh iteration of the Wreckers, the team was joined by Hyperion, Piston, Rack, and at least one other member. Either around of after 3,000,000 BC, the Wreckers did battle with a Decepticon named Black Shadow, a member of the Warriors Elite. The Decepticon killed both Crest and Piston, along with the unknown member, leaving Hyperion to take command.

Gaining Infamy

Eventually, Hyperion stepped down, and Impactor took his place. Under his leadership, the group was joined by Blocker, Broadside, a Triple Changer, Ruin, Rack's brother, and Whirl, a former flight instructor and killer of Valve's brothers, among others. This last recruit was most likely the cause of Valve's leaving of the Wreckers and subsequent defection to the Decepticons. He then went on to form Squadron X, the Decepticons' answer to the Wreckers, and the two squads became mortal enemies. The Wreckers went on participate in numerous assignments, including a mission to save the Autobot legal advisor Xaaron from the Sonic Canyons, an attack on a Decepticon shuttle near the Sherma Bridge in Rodion, an act which inspired a young Autobot Heliobot named Springer to sign up on the Wreckers' reserve list, and minor skirmish at the Vosian Citadel, a skirmish which caused an Autobot weapons engineer named Ironfist to become the Wreckers' unofficial historian, creating datalogs named Wreckers: Declassified.

Going Public

Soon, Impactor approached Springer personally in the Toxic Sludge Swamps and recruited him to Wreckers, letting the young 'bot join their seventeenth iteration. Soon, the Wreckers went public and became famous throughout the ranks for their willingness to take on the dirtiest and most suicidal of missions. One day, Blocker's best friend died, causing the Wrecker to be distraught with grief and begin to chew on his transformation cog, something that was found by Springer, causing him to be discharged from their ranks. In his place, another Triple Changer named Sandstorm was installed as a member.

The Wreckers continued to fight in their many campaigns, including arriving on a planet where Heavy Barrel and Ransack were engaged in pink alchemy and attempting to protect refugees from the likes of Gutcruncher and Stratotronic. Soon, the Wreckers arrived on Varas Extrinsecus along with the Dynobots, discovering an Autobot outpost which was destroyed by the Decepticon trio known as the Firecons. The two teams then followed their quarry to Varas Centralus to fight against the Firecons who had been joined by the Constructicons, leading to one of bloodiest battles during the entire war, with one instance of the Firecons' breath being so hot it burned the atmosphere.

The team also helped in a battle on Rada Mor, where Broadside made a gamble with the local sentient beings: living explosives. Next, the
