Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Continuity notes[edit | edit source]

  • BNN is reporting on the aftermath of Megatron's invasion, first seen in the Transformers ongoing series [1].
  • Marrisa Faireborn is seen among the survivors of New York, a point first seen in Robots in Disguise [2].
  • In the flashback to 2009, the Statue of Liberty has a hole blown through it, a piece of damage done by Omega Supreme [3].
  • Colton was shown losing his hand to the Wraith originally in First Strike #0 [4]
  • The group of hoodlums are watching Optimus' speech from the end of the Conquerors story arc [5].
  • Blackrock talks with Onyx Prime in infraspace, something not seen since Escalation [6].
  • Optimus mistakes the M.A.S.S. device for orbital bounce technology from Furman's Transformers run.
  • Kup brings up his banishment to the Dead Universe [7].
  • Miles Mayhem is among the villains on the last page, his joining of Colton's cabal was detailed in the backmatter of First Strike #3 [8].

Franchise references[edit | edit source]

  • While she holds Blackrock steady, Mayday calls him "G.B", a callback to his name in the original Marvel continuity.
  • After Centurion is hit by the Talisman's energy, he turns grey similarly to Optimus Prime in The Transformers: The Movie.

Real-life references[edit | edit source]

  • Krieger paraphrases the poem Ozymandias, telling Mayday to "look upon his works and despair".
  • When misremembering Colton's name, Skywarp calls him Coulson, the name of a Marvel Comics character.
  • Blackrock says he is "the best programmer since Ada Lovelace", the world's first computer programmer.

Errors[edit | edit source]

  • This issue presents that Colton lost his hand prior to the annexation of Earth into the Council of Worlds, meaning his duplicate was appointed head of Earth Defense Command [9]. This directly contradicts First Strike, which has stated the Joe was replaced after taking the role; the prelude issue showed him familiar with Blitzwing [4] after the Triple Changer's capture [10], but did not know what happened to him following his turnover to Miles. Issue 2 described that he attempted to legally use the Talisman against the Cybertronians, then he discovered the Wraith infestation [11].
  • On her single panel appearance, Cover Girl is drawn and colored in place of Lady Jaye.
  • Kup says he was in the Dead Universe for twelve billion years, while he was actually there for fourteen billion years [9].
  • On page 27, panel 3, Ian's text bubble misspells "bollocks" as "bullocks".
  • On the fifth page of the backmatter, Shockwave's ship is said to be identical to the Nemesis, rather than the Darksyde.
  • On the final backmatter page, Marissa is said to be protesting in Robots in Disguise issue 19, rather than issue 29 [2].

Other notes[edit | edit source]

  • This issue arrived two months late from its original solicitation in July.
  • This issue costs USD 4.99, due to it being oversized with 28 story pages and eight pages of backmatter pointing out Easter Eggs.
